Continuing our look into 2018, we took some time to chat with Sahil, the newest Product Manager at Outplay. Overseeing several aspects of Crafty Candy, Booty Quest and Mystery Match, Sahil ensures we deliver the best possible experience for our players while making sure the team and game are running at top performance.
Q. Tell us a little about yourself. What is your role at Outplay and what’s your background within the industry?
A. I joined Outplay back in December 2017 in the role of Product Manager for our Casual titles. I’m originally from India but have previously worked for the likes of Ubisoft in Abu Dhabi and the mobile division of EA in India, in similar roles.
Q. We are all thinking about the year ahead. What are you most looking forward to as you start of 2018 with Outplay?
A. These are exciting times at Outplay. We have a great mix of live and in development titles, putting us in a great position to reach greater heights than ever. I’m looking forward to what this will bring and the opportunities that will develop. There are even some signs of this already, with Outplay on the lookout for more Product Managers to help guide our portfolio of games.
Q. As a new arrival to Dundee, are there any places in particular you’re looking forward to exploring in the surrounding area?
Dundee is situated in a fantastic location, on the footsteps of some beautiful countryside which I hope to explore further once spring arrives. I’m also very keen to visit the capital, Edinburgh and others such as Stirling and various historical locations. Of course, no trip to around Scotland would be complete without visiting the world-famous Loch Ness.
Q. Looking at the wider games industry, do you have any advice for 2018?
A. I believe that an unwavering focus on the end user is critical to success in the mobile games business today. Every decision – be it for a new feature development or live operations – must be taken with a lens on how it enhances the end user experience.
