Another year begins and with several new Outplayers joining us, what better time to look forward to the year ahead and what 2018 will bring for us all. We caught up with Keeley Bunting, Senior Designer on our latest match-3 title, Booty Quest, to find out a little bit more about her and the highlights of working at Outplay.
Tell us a bit about yourself, Keeley. Where did you come from to join Outplay, and what is your role here?
I joined Outplay at the end of October as a Senior Designer and am currently leading the design for Booty Quest. It’s lovely to be a part of this team of talented people who work hard, care deeply about the game, and who never shy away from a funny pirate pun. I am originally from Canada, but prior to Outplay I also had the good fortune to work in London at both Disney and Microsoft.
With a full year ahead, what are you looking forward to most in 2018 at Outplay?
It is definitely an exciting time to be at Outplay. Our game is still young, with other exciting projects in the pipeline, so I am looking forward to seeing where we, as a studio, can take them. There’s even an opportunity for another Senior Designer like myself to join us, now is the time to get involved!
As someone who has recently arrived in Dundee, where are you most looking forward to visiting in the surrounding area this year?
There are so many places that I am keen on seeing in Scotland, but Dunnottar Castle in Stonehaven looks like a particularly cool spot. How can you go wrong with ruins of a fortress on a clifftop by the sea?
What’s your tip for everyone in the mobile games industry for 2018?
My tip for everyone within the industry would be to continue experimenting and challenging accepted wisdom. I love the variety of game experiences that have succeeded in recent years and believe that continuing to increase the number of unique options available will result in the growth of the mobile games audience overall.
